The Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand) is the tallest of the Basset breeds and has the longest legs, longest ears and longest body of all the Bassets.

With a rough coat, he has a lovely scruffy appearance, and its name roughly translates as large, low, shaggy dog. Full of energy and stamina, this dog will enjoy lots of exercise, and as with all hounds, will benefit from training. As a pack dog, this breed enjoys the company of other dogs and will also get on with other pets too. Charming, friendly and companionable, this breed makes an excellent family dog.
