Ciara has become a successful dog trainer, mainly as a result of being the passionate and dedicated owner of a severely troubled and very loved rescue dog called Luna. While Luna has sadly passed away, the impact she had on Ciara’s life continues every day with the amazing work she has now dedicated her life to – supporting others with their dog training needs. As an autistic dog trainer, Ciara offers a distinctly unique insight and understanding into the bond between human and canine. Ciara has both Autism and ADHD, which has been influential in being the strongly empathic human that being a dog trainer requires. Ciara has been working as a dog trainer for 3 years, where she has helped clients improve behaviours, confidence and understanding of dogs and dog training. Most recently, she has been working with owner trained assistance dogs and reactive dogs, as well as having particular expertise in canine communication skills. Ciara started working with dogs in a day care facility, learning how dogs interact in groups as well as one to one before rescuing a reactive dog who changed her life. She then started online and self-educating extensively to begin her dog training journey. Ciara has implemented her skills as a dog trainer to help the dog owning community & continues to educate humans as to the wonderful world of canine behaviour as well as her own quest for further understanding.
