The Small Munsterlander is a versatile hunting-pointing-retrieving dog originating in Germany. It was developed in the early 20th century by crossing the Large Munsterlander with spaniels, resulting in a smaller dog with a brown and white coat.

These medium-sized dogs are strong but agile, with an overall elegant appearance and graceful gait. They have a handsome head, brown eyes with an intelligent and kind expression and long spaniel ears. The coat is of a medium length and silky, and can be straight or slightly wavy, and is white with large brown patches and ticked areas. They are extremely intelligent and good-natured dogs which are gentle around children and friendly with other people and dogs. Having been developed as hunting and retrieving dogs, they relish getting outdoors and need lots of exercise to keep them happy. They excel in agility, obedience and retrieving, and love getting in the water too. These are happy, friendly dogs, which thrive on human companionship and exercise. For the active owner or family they are the prefect canine companion.
